老師 What kind of pet do you have?

學生:I have dog。

老師: __________________________________.

Teacher: What kind of pet do you have?

Student: I have dog.

Teacher: __________________________________.

You are the teacher.

Do you correct the mistake?

If so, how do you correct it?

The study done by DeKeyser (1993) shows that error correction can have complex influences on learners, depending on their levels.

Some students with extrinsic motivation don't seem to need error correction, whereas those with no such thing can benefit from it.

It is interesting to see that one error treatment could have a different effect on an individual.

It can even involve a cultural aspect.

In Taiwan, adult learners sometimes like to be corrected and see it as a bonus for what they have paid for tuition.

What do you think about it?

I really wonder how people will pontificate on this!
