Yesterday's podcast episode was about how language skills can sometimes be directly related to career.

I love meeting new people

I meet people from all walks of life who like to learn languages.

Some are in customer service.

Some are in sales.

Some are engineers.

What they all have in common is

They want to practice speaking skills, but they don't have an environment for the target language.

I've always emphasized that learning a language starts with an interest.

Like in the latest podcast, Mavis said,

"Incorporate the language into your life.

Watch a movie or something.

Look up words that you don't know.

That's how she got the opportunity to work overseas as a conventioneer.

To los angeles and then to shanghai.

And it's because of her language skills that she's been able to do all of this.
