倫敦東逛西逛 Traveling in London－多語昂小視界

住了一整年愛丁堡

現在來倫敦幾天遊

住了背包客旅社

便宜就是相對的價值

比較舊

他們的Bar就是公共空間

所以大家要用電腦的或是聊天都在這

景點一次全部一網打盡

倫敦大橋倫敦塔大笨鐘巴金漢王宮大英博物館

一般想到的全部這幾天都去一遍

學一些歷史像是倫敦塔是當初為了防禦敵人所建的塔

好啦我知道我學得太淺層

反而印象深刻是走回旅社經過大笨鐘時

有一個女小丑走過來

跟我要拍照

我感覺不妙應該會叫我要給錢

我說 Sorry, I am shy. I don't like to take photos.

結果他直接叫他男友還老公用他手機拍

說叫我給零錢

我就想說：哈囉？你是你老公手機拍的不是我的手機ＯＫ？

我該跟你收錢還是你跟我收錢？很鬧耶

不過其實景點去一去

最印象深刻還是參加的活動

相對於在星期六背包客旅社誤闖的人家60歲英國阿姨生日

裡面都是人家親戚根本也不知道怎麼加入

同溫層有夠重

這也讓我想到在愛丁堡時

我賣了腳踏車給一個在那邊找到工作的台灣女生

跟我說雖然薪水高福利好

但是一些隱性問題還是在文化溝通層面

當地人的同溫層難以突破

相對於此

星期日的時候

參加了一個Social Walk

這個目的明顯

人家是自己跟你聊天講話

我感覺非常舒適跟如魚得水

是一段很好的回憶

我每次都很犯賤

就是總是覺得台灣好

想念台灣

想回家

回家之後翻了照片

打這篇文章的同時

卻又開始想念英國的風景跟那時候的經驗

Anyway

我也想把這個Social Walk活動形式

帶回台灣來舉辦

希望能夠藉由這樣的形式

讓大家也帶回對台灣美好的回憶

After spending a year living in Edinburgh, and now I am in London for a brief visit, staying at a budget-friendly backpacker's hostel.

The concept of "cheap" varies from person to person, and this hostel seems to be on the older side. However, it does offer a communal space in the form of a bar where everyone is welcome to use computers or engage in conversations.

From this central location, I've had the opportunity to take in some of London's most iconic sights all in one go—London Bridge, the Tower of London, Big Ben, and Buckingham Palace. I've explored these historic landmarks while also delving into their rich histories, such as the Tower of London, originally built as a defensive stronghold against enemies.

During the walk back to the hostel when I passed by Big Ben, an unexpected encounter with a female clown took me by surprise. She kindly asked me to take her picture, though I couldn't help but feel a tad uneasy, fearing that she might request money in return. I hesitated. To my surprise, she turned to her boyfriend or maybe husband, who readily snapped the pictures with his phone. As expected, she asked for spare change. I couldn't help but think, "Hello? You took the photos with your husband's phone, not mine. Should I charge you, or should you charge me?" It turned into a lighthearted moment.

Yet, beyond these amusing encounters, the most remarkable aspect of my trip has been the events I've participated in. These experiences have left a lasting impression on me. To provide a contrast, there was a peculiar incident involving a British auntie celebrating her 60th birthday, who unexpectedly found her way into our backpacker's hostel on a Saturday. They appeared to be a close-knit group of relatives, and I found myself unsure of how to join their festivities. It felt as though there was a world of their own up in the "stratosphere", which means a clique in the Taiwanese context. This situation reminded me of a similar experience in Edinburgh when I sold my bike to a Taiwanese girl who had found employment there. While she spoke highly of the good salary and benefits, she also highlighted the challenges of navigating the intricacies of cultural communication and breaking through the barriers of local culture.

In stark contrast, on a Sunday, I took part in a social walk, where the purpose was clear—people naturally engaged in conversations. This experience was immensely comfortable and enjoyable, leaving me with fond memories. As I reflect on my travels, I can't help but admit that I've sometimes been a bit of a complainer, often longing for the familiarity of Taiwan. I find myself missing my home country more than ever. Looking back at the photos from my journeys and composing this article, I am overwhelmed with nostalgia for the landscapes and experiences of England and Scotland.

Nevertheless, I have a goal in mind. I aspire to introduce the format of these social walks to Taiwan, hoping to offer visitors an opportunity to create cherished memories of their own in my homeland.
