這個故事也讓錄製的製作訪談人流淚

Larry跟父母從福建移民到美國

他們讓Larry只講英文

因為覺得英文在那裡是最實用的

隨著孩子長大
Larry跟爸爸因為語言障礙幾乎沒怎麼講話
還進而對爸爸產生誤解

其中幾個感人的部分就是

爸爸因為一個更賺錢的機會

跑回中國去賺錢

因為思念家人寫信回美國給妻小

Larry從爸爸的信中 爸爸其實是很愛自己的

所以破冰 開始學中文想跟爸爸溝通

最感人的地方就是

Larrry用簡單的中文講述自己的心意給爸爸聽那段

讓所有人都熱淚盈匡

As I said before

I'm a person who spends most of my daily life learning and teaching languages.

I wear headphones when I work out

And listen to some stories in other languages

The other day, I heard a story that moved me a lot.

This story also brought tears to the eyes of the interviewer who recorded it.

Act Two: Larry Speaks English. His Dad Speaks Chinese.

Larry and his parents immigrated to America from Fujian Province. China.

They told Larry to speak only English.

Because they thought English was the most practical language there.

As the child grew up
Larry and his father hardly spoke to each other because of the language barrier.
And he misunderstood his father.

A couple of touching parts were

Dad went back to China to make money because of a more lucrative opportunity

Because Dad missed his family, he wrote a letter to his wife and son in the U.S.

Larry realized from his father's letter that he really loved him.

So he broke the ice and started learning Chinese in order to communicate with him.

In this episode, the most touching part is when Larrry tells his father how he feels in simple Chinese.

It brought tears to everyone's eyes.
